The medium sized company seated in Paderborn was founded as omp computer gmbh in 1993 by the owner Dipl.-Ing. Arjen R. Klei. Over the years, additional companies for special assignments were added to form a group that is uniformly presented as omp. omp ist independent and has no additional corporate shareholders.
With Dr. Jan Stehr as CTO, the team today provides internationally unique experience and expertise in telematics, reliable and secure systems. This domain combines methods and technologies of interacting, distributed components with informatics e.g. to modern mobility solutions – from traffic and logistics management to tolling, the internet of things and up to flight arrival optimization. As a focus topic, omp is continuously working on electronic tolling systems, starting with a GNSS/CN field trial on the A555 motorway in 1993.
