The call for proposals addresses experienced researchers. Therefore, applicants need to either be in posession of a PhD, or have been working as a scientist for a minimum of 4 years in a fulltime equivalent. You need to comply with the corresponding Mobility Rule and meet the criteria on nationality, if applicable. We expect applications from scientists, who have a promising innovative and ambitious research project idea, which addresses at least one of the 7 Research Challenges defined by the University of Siegen. We also welcome potentially high risk research proposals.
For the application to be accepted the applicant must submit the complete set of required documents, either through the application platform of the University of Siegen or by postal mail, within the call deadline. An overview of all mandatory documents and templates is available in the “Documents” section. Incomplete, delayed or ineligible applications will be rejected. Please check the “Eligibility Criteria” for more information.
To ensure equal treatment, all candidates must provide all documents in English. A checklist of mandatory documents is available under Templates. STAR prepared a number of templates, most of which are for orientation and can be used and adjusted according to your needs. However, there are templates considered mandatory (Administrational Form, Self Declaration and Ethical Issues Table). Please check the Guide for Applicants and the Submission Checklist for more information.
As a general rule, each candidate can only submit one application per call.
